Just Ordered

I got home from Bible study about an hour-and-a-half ago and I had something to eat and then came upstairs to check my email and whatnot.  I had this WTS Bookstore gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket so I toiled over what to get.  In the end I decided on the following:

So as you can see I split it up between apologetics and Christology.  I almost went entirely with Christology books.  For a while I had Richard Daniels’ The Christology of John Owen in my shopping cart but in the end I decided I can wait for that.  I’m sure Owen’s Christology is fascinating (I know his Trinitarian theology is) but it’s something I’m going to hold off on.  Had it been a hardcover I probably would have snatched it up immediately, but something about paying more than $20 for a paperback doesn’t sit well with me.  The books will be here by Friday so I’m quite pleased with that!

  1. Are you still going to review every book you read? If so, I’m looking forward to your review of the Gundry book. I’ve held off on getting it because I’m just not sure about it yet.

  2. Matt: That’s the plan. The only reason I haven’t reviewed anything in a while is because I’ve been slowly working through a monograph that I hope to finish by tomorrow. And when I say slowly I mean like 5-10 pages a day! Preparing lessons for Bible study has also taken up time that I’d normally spend reading. As far as the book that Gundry edited goes, I’m sure it’ll be beneficial because I’ve read portions of it on Google Books in the past and it was informative. Plus I like these multiple views books because they offer responses to each view. They really help me to get a good sense of the pros and cons of each position.
