I just ordered a copy of Dan Wallace’s Granville Sharp’s Canon and Its Kin: Semantics and Significance. I’ve had my eye on this book since I first heard it was published in November of last year but the price kept me from getting it and the publisher turned me down for a review copy so it wasn’t until now that I’ve been able to find a great price and use an Amazon gift certificate to pick it up. When it was all said and done I ended up paying $17 out of my pocket which isn’t bad at all. And with Mike’s glowing remarks about the book I’m all the more excited to be getting my hands on it!
B”H
Man, is this Granville Sharp day? Polycarp mentioned him in his blog.
“Polycarp mentioned him in his blog.”
Linking back to the same place that Nick does here.
Me.
…not to toot my own horn or anything like that…
;)
Yeah, so you’re something like the common ancestor, Mike. ;)
James: I thought Polycarp mentioned him yesterday?
Mike: Yes indeed, we both linked back to you, although I also linked back to myself of November of last year… not to toot my own horn or anything like that. ;-)
In any case, enjoy the book!
Mike: I’m sure I will. Without divulging too much, how’s his interaction with Fee?
Nick, you will love that book. I enjoyed the brief history of Granville more than the rest of the book! Sharp was quite the dude. Wallace’s contribution in this area will be greatly appreciated by all those who love Jesus as their God.
Drew: Good to know, thanks!
He disagrees with Fee. I didn’t go into detail digging through the texts as I went. I just read straight through, but as far as I could tell, he made a strong case against Fee.
Mike: Cool. I read a few pages of that section on Amazon but never got through it all. I’m looking forward to seeing it all in context.
