What If Obama Is the AntiChrist?

How funny would it be if Obama reallly was the antiChrist?  Then a lot of folks (many of them bloggers) who wasted time writing about how he isn’t or couldn’t be will have to eat their words.

  1. That would be awesome. Well, except the part about the anti-Christ being here. That would not be very awesome. And I would be one of those idiots who voted the anti-Christ into power.

  2. No, I’d still have to take that microchip-666-world-wide-economic-system-mark-of-the-beast-thingy. At least that is what my good friend Tim LaHaye tells me. So it seems I may have another chance!

  3. That would be funny. Related to that what if John Piper was right about the tornado and the ELCA?

Of course what people are taking issue with is the methods people used to decide what was prophesied in scripture and how to tell what God’s involment in a weather incident was. However, that raises the further question of on what basis does someone have for disagreeing with another person’s methodology. Who’s to say someone is right or wrong? What if the way someone goes about proving from scripture that Obama is the anti-christ is actually right? Hmmm…

  4. Brian: Ahh, the microchip. How’d I forget that one?!!

Bryan: You know, I thought the same thing about Piper. It’s not like God has never used a natural disaster as a means of judgment before. Piper could be right about this. I don’t think he is, but you never know.

    Brian: …in the arse!

  5. Well, somebody is going to be the anti-christ at sometime…that’s for sure! While BO is a real stinker…isn’t he a bit too obvious?

  6. Actually, I think it would be even funnier if Tim LaHaye or Jerry Jenkins turned out to be the antichrist, or maybe even John Hagee. Hagee could be preaching on tv one day, then just start devouring people’s souls and sucking them into the underworld. I can imagine Obama watching it and saying “Well, I’ll be darned.”

  7. Nancy: I don’t know. My personal opinion has long been that the antichrist will be a political figure, so why not Obama?

Jeremy: I don’t know if that would be funnier since I’ve not seen anyone defending those guys against being the antichrist. It would remove all the irony if it was one of them!

  8. Nick:
I wouldn’t figure it would be a political figure since politics are so decisive and often local. Maybe a celebrity. Bono maybe? : )

  9. Brian: I hadn’t seen that but the book mentioned looks like it might be worth reading. One of my favorite books Unleashing the Beast argues what I think is a similar thesis. And sometimes poor exegesis still yields correct conclusions. ;-)

Bryan: Nah, Bono’s too Catholic. Maybe David Hasselhoff. :-P
