Yesterday I received a copy of Phillip J. Long’s Jesus the Bridegroom: The Origin of the Eschatological Feast as Banquet in the Synoptic Gospels courtesy of the author himself!
The day before that I received a copy of Scott Hahn’s Hail, Holy Queen: The Mother of God in the Word of God. In general I don’t have a lot of issues with Catholic theology. But the Marian dogmas don’t sit well with me. Not because I don’t think Mary should be honored—she is, after all, the mother of our Lord—but rather because I don’t find much biblical basis for them. I’m interested to see Hahn make his case from a biblical-theological/typological reading.
