Sometimes it’s nice having a large mailbox. It affords me the opportunity to be surprised by what’s in it! Today I found a nice sized box from Oxford University Press containing John Behr’s Irenaeus of Lyons: Identifying Christianity, which is part of the Christian Theology in Context series. In addition to this there were three volumes from the Oxford Apostolic Fathers series, namely:
- The Epistle to Diognetus (with the Fragment of Quadratus): Introduction, Text, and Commentary edited by Clayton N. Jefford
- 2 Clement: Introduction, Text, and Commentary edited by Christopher Tuckett
- Polycarp’s Epistle to the Philippians and the Martyrdom of Polycarp: Text, Translation, and Commentary edited by Paul Hartog.
Nothing better than early Christian writers!
