For Us and Our Salvation

Who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man…

Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed

While we celebrate the Incarnation of the Son today let us not lose sight of why the Son became incarnate in the first place; he did it for us and our salvation. It is not only the birth of the Son that we celebrate but the new birth of every believer, which was made possible through the death and resurrection of the Incarnate Son.
