The Bible in a Year: Day 63 (Joshua 16:1-19:9)

Not much to say about the reading for today.

Joshua 16:10; 17:13 — They should have just driven the Canaanites out. Sure, they’re getting “forced labor” (ESV), but what’s the downside to it? Idolatry.

It’s amazing how utterly boring and mundane I find sections of Scripture like Joshua 16-19 but I can imagine how important stuff like this must have been to ancient Jews. If there was a dispute over one’s territory or over one’s genealogy then they could just open up Numbers, or Joshua, or 1 Chronicles, etc. and settle the issue.
