James Spinti from Eisenbrauns was kind enough to send along a copy of John Anderson‘s Jacob and the Divine Trickster: A Theology of Deception and YHWH’s Fidelity to the Ancestral Promise in the Jacob Cycle. The subtitle is a bit cumbersome, but that aside, I’m looking forward to giving this a read.
