Matt: You’re welcome. I hope someone gets you some books. :-)

That wish list is all Greek to me. Did Matt write “All Things are Better in Koine”?

You know, I was going to buy him Robertson’s Grammar AND Liddell Scott, figuring he could use them as deadly weapons in self-defense if nothing else, but he’s got no shipping address.
So I’ll just go see what Doctor Who I can buy myself. Sometimes things just work out.

Chuck: Yeah, God only knows why he wants all that Greek nonsense. Good thing he doesn’t have shipping info listed. I can’t imagine you going without Doctor Who! ;-) BTW, if there’s anything left over from that purchase there are a number of books I’m desperately in need of. ;-)

Nick: I’m sorry. What passes for scholarly bookstores around here are Barnes and Noble, and Lifeway.
They ain’t got them books, in short.
How’s about some T.D. Jakes or Joel Osteen instead?

There’s more than just Greek in the list. Check the sidebar to see other subjects.

Chuck: May it never be! And B&N reigns supreme in these parts. Unfortunately I refuse to pay full retail price for used books.
Matt: I checked them all out. Interestingly enough, I own about half the books you have on your lists. Unfortunately for you, I’m greedy and won’t be giving them up any time soon. ;-)

lol. It’s all good, Nick. I’d be greedy too if I had those books.

Nick: Actually I’ve waited months to buy New Doctor Who series 4, but that Amazon half off sale was too good to pass up.
Still, you make too much of my being a Whovian. The fact that the cd case with all the Who DVDs is right on top of the stack means nothing, absolutely nothing. And pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, either.
And back at you, Nick. I’m pretty eager for those Anchor Bible Apocrypha volumes. Rush out and obtain them for me, hmm?
Matt: I looked at your other wish lists and since your tastes frequently match mine, it goes without saying you are a person of rare good taste.

Chuck: Are they commentaries on the Apocrypha? I’m not clear on which volumes you’re talking about exactly.

Nick: Yup. The Anchor commentaries on Maccabees, Tobit, Judith, the Wisdoms, etc. B&N has the best prices so far.
I hate actually spending money on them because the chances of my using them in connection with church are, of course, nil. Worse than the Apostolic Fathers.

Chuck: I’m sure someone will beat B&N on the prices in the near future.

The Anchor commentaries are great but “Ouch! My wallet!!”.
