2009 Trinity Blogging Summit: Call for Submissions

For those who don’t know, back in March I hosted the 2008 Trinity Blogging Summit in which various bloggers contributed a diverse collection of essays on the Trinity.  I thought it was a great success and I’d like to do it again.  So here’s my call for submissions.  If you’d like to contribute an essay on any aspect of Trinitarian theology for the 2009 Trinity Blogging Summit which will be hosted on Sunday, March 1, 2009, then please do.

This year there will be no word limits; go as long or as short as you feel like.  Please include a brief bio with your submission so that readers can learn a little something about the authors.  I ask that everything be submitted to me as an MS Word document.  I plan to make PDFs of all the papers and I’m not yet sure if I’ll just post links to all the PDFs or give every submission its own post like last year.  Feedback is welcomed.  The submission due date will be Saturday, February 28, 2009.

If you’re interested in contributing then leave a comment and let me know.  Thanks.

  1. Ranger says:

The real question is to whom do you plan on sending invites? I think Dr. Leithart needs to contribute again!

  2. Nick Norelli says:

Ranger: Yes, I’ll be soliciting a post from Dr. Leithart again this year.

  3. Geoff says:

Hey man, I’d like to contribute something, but I do not know how much time I will have, I know you have yet to read much I’ve written, but I’m figuring out how to write well as I preach every week, do grad work, and some of my co-workers ask me if I can write them short essays about various aspects of Christianity.

If I did contribute I’d probably like to contribute a lay introduction to the doctrine itself, with an emphasis on how the gospel of the resurrection of Jesus is an introduction to the God who is Trinity.

  4. Nick Norelli says:

Geoff: Sounds great, and don’t worry, you have like 4 months.

  5. Geoff says:

Cool. I’ll see what I can muster up, hopefully it meets standards.

  6. andrewbourne says:

Nick what would you like me to explore Orthodox Trinitarian thought or Catholic Trinitarian thought or in the interaction between philosophy or theology in Trinitarian thought

  7. Nick Norelli says:

    Geoff: I’m sure it will.

Andrew: It’s your choice, but I’d cast my vote for the interaction between philosophy and theology in Trinitarian thought.

  8. Seumas says:

I’m up for writing something. The timing works in perfectly with some trinitarian work I’ll be doing over the next few months.

  9. Nick Norelli says:

Seumas: Fantastic! I look forward to it.

  10. Shaun Tabatt says:

What’s the minimum page length you’re looking for? (8-10, 10-12, etc.) I realize you said there’s no maximum word count. This may be important for those of us who have to carefully budget our precious little free time. ;)

  11. Nick Norelli says:

Shaun: The minimun would be 1 page. The maximun is limitless. Last year I set the limit at 1500 words and we all went over. This year I don’t care.

  12. Brian LePort says:

    Nick,

I’d be interested in participating as well. You said we have about four months?

  13. Nick Norelli says:

Brian: Great! Yes, about four months. I’ll need all submissions by the last day in February 2009.

  14. Ranger says:

I’d love to contribute something on latter Reformed understandings of the Trinity and the influence on Baptist traditions.

Though, my family just received word today that we have fulfilled our language requirements and will be moving to our permanent position in Malaysia in February. I might not have time with Christmas, Chinese New Year and the move, but I’ll try!

  15. Nick Norelli says:

Ranger: I appreciate the effort. I pray that you’re able to find a 25th hour each day. :)

  17. Nick, I would like to participate. Sounds like fun, and I am doing a whole lot of studying on the Trinity right now, so it is good timing. Just not sure how I will approach the subject. Since you lifted the requirements makes it a lot easier for me.

  18. Nick Norelli says:

Robert: Great! I look forward to your contribution.

  19. Hi Nick

I missed the call when it came out. May I still send in a post? I’d like to pursue a post on the topography (structure and direction) of the Trinity.

    Take care & God bless
    WF

  20. Nick Norelli says:

Weekend Fisher: Sounds great! I look forward to your post.

I would like to participate! For some reason I can’t click on your e-mail to open it up. If you could give me your e-mail I’d greatly appreciate it.

  23. Nick Norelli says:

Theodora: Sounds great. You can email your submission to prophetnick77 [at] aol [dot] com. It’s due by the end of this month. Thanks.
