Something’s Afoot

For some reason, WordPress has taken over the RSS feeds of certain blogs.  Brian Fulthorp, Chuck Grantham, ElShaddai Edwards, Robert Jimenez, George, and myself were all victims of this.  I went to read the 10 new posts from each blog (knowing darn well that I hadn’t posted 10 new things), and instead, the same 10 posts from http://en.blog.wordpress.com.  I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t like it.  Shed some light if you have any to shed, or at least tell me if the same thing happened in your RSS reader.

Not sure what you’ve got - I just added my feed to Google Reader and all looks correct. Brian’s and Robert’s feeds look fine as well.

evil wordpress always out to get you

Well, yesterday I swear I made a post on getting the von Rad book and typed out the same quote I have there now and I swear I published it - went to the site later and it wasn’t there. very weired.

I use RSS feed to browse through yours, ElShaddai, and a few others and they all seem fine.

ElShaddai: I use the RSS reader that comes standard with Internet Explorer 7. This is the first time that something like this has happened.

Roger: I think it’s really a case of Blogspot sabotage. ;)

Brian: From time to time little glitches like that happen. I can remember something similar to that happening a few months back, but it was fixed quickly.

Robert: Which RSS reader do you use?

The problem seems to be your use of IE7. I suggest upgrading to Firefox and using Google Reader for your RSS feeds. 8)

Nathan: We all know that Firefox sucks (!) and I don’t feel like signing up for something when I already have the capability to do it with IE7.

ya’ll all need to switch to mac and start using NetNewsWire if you really want to fly…

Roger: Macs got #6 on my top 10 most overrated stuff list. How dare you suggest a conversion to the Mac cult!

What’s an RSS feed?

Hehehe. Ignorance is bliss.

Chuck,
RSS feeds are an easy way to keep track of news. In this case we are talking about the feeds for people’s blogs. Several of us use Google Reader. All you do is copy/paste the URL for a blog and it will automatically keep you updated whenever someone makes a new post on their blog. It is a huge time saver if you read more than a handful of blogs.

Hmm. Thanks, Nathan. I’ll have to keep Google Reader in mind.
