Top 10 List: Movies I Never Get Sick Of

There’s some movies that I watch and enjoy, but would never watch them again.  There’s other movies that I watch and hate so much, that I can’t even get through them once.  And then there’s movies that are so great, that no matter how many times I watch them, I never get sick of them.  So here’s my top 10:

1.    Goodfellas

2.    Braveheart

3.    The Negotiator

4.    40 Year Old Virgin

5.    Donnie Brasco

6.    Rocky III

7.    Pulp Fiction

8.    Die Hard with a Vengeance

9.    Wedding Crashers

10.  U.S. Marshals

*Honorable mentions: The Jerk, Rocky IV, Under Siege, and some more I don’t feel like remembering…

i watched swingers four times the first day that i saw it… i’ve seen it like 13 since then.

also… cool runnings when i was a kid… loved that… over and over and over again.

finally… bill murray, the man who knew too little.
yours are all too intense.

oh… and also… Ronin.
whenever my dad and my bro get together we watch this just because there are so many car chases and it disgusts my mother.

Weirdly enough Rocky IV never seems to get old for me either. I mean there is almost nothing good about the movie, but I still like it, inexplicably. Probably because it has like 6 montages and three fights(with Lang in the opening credits, 4 if you include the unseen fight with Apollo).

I guess it is just cool to watch Rocky beat up a boxer who could probaby scare any character from any medium except for Rocky. I mean I don’t think that Optimus Prime could have beaten Drago, which is why Rocky IV is so stupid, but also it is that about it which compells one to watch.

40 year Old Virgin?

I like watching the LOTR movies I don’t tire of those.

Also I don’t get tired of:
The Fugitive / U.S. Marshalls
The Hunt for Red October
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek: The Voyage Home
Star Trek: First Contact.
Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade
Tombstone.

I agree with number seven.
I couldn’t even make it thru number four.
This reminds me I need to watch The Jerk again.
You and your lists, haha. 8)

Roger: I don’t think that I could watch any of the movies you listed more than once. And I really wanted to like Ronin, but for some reason I couldn’t get into it; and I’m a huge De Niro fan.

Geoff: Everything about Rock IV was so over-the-top that you have to love it. The way Apollo dies, the training regiments of both Rocky and the Russian. The manner in which Rocky takes a brutal licking and keeps on ticking, only to win over the hostile communist crowd. It’s a classic! Granted, I liked Rocky III better, but this one is still great.

Brian: Yeah, it’s one of the funniest movies ever. Have you seen it? I liked the Star Trek movies, and the Indiana Jones franchise was good as well (btw, the new one looks excellent), but I couldn’t watch any of them over and over. And I absolutely hated Tombstone. IMO, Wyatt Earp was the superior of the two.

Nathan: Ahh, yes… my lists. Best thing for when you got nothing else to blog about. ;) And you couldn’t get through the 40 Year Old Virgin?!! Why not? Because you were laughing too hard?

Last night I watched Napolean Dynomite for - I think - the sixth time… still not bored of it - but it seems to be the type of movie people either love or find pointless.

Also, anything with Will Ferrell is pretty essential viewing for me - hehe that scene in Wedding Crashers at the funeral…. ahh what subtle wit…

Matthew: Good one. I could have included Napolean Dynamite as an honorable mention had I thought about it. I’ve seen it at least 10 times, and it’s just as funny each time.

And yes, that funeral scene in Wedding Crashers is as good as it gets!

yea you seem to like dark and depressing.. i like lightweight movies that dont even really make me laugh but i just smile the whole movie.

I’m the opposite. I like dark, gritty movies. I am generally disappointed by most mass-market comedies, and feel-good type movies. There are occasional exceptions, and it goes without saying that chick-flicks are terrible as a rule.

Roger: Which of those movies would you consider depressing? And give me an example of one of these ’smile’ movies. I’m not sure I know what you mean.

Nathan: I like dark, gritty movies as well, and for sure, some of those on my list are dark, but I don’t think any of them are depressing. As far as comedies go, I like the funny ones. ;)

Well I posted that before we watched Lars and the Real Girl last night. It is the best movie I’ve seen this year and probably the funniest movie I’ve seen in 2-3 years. I highly recommend it and we’re gonna buy it today.

Nathan: Never heard of it. Who’s in t?

Eh, here’s a link:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0805564/

Trust me, it’s hysterical.

Nathan: Well, if it ever comes on TV I’ll make sure to watch it.

Wedding Crashers = my favorite comedy of all time.

I thought No Country For Old Men and Atonement were both very, very good. Atonement surprised me–I went expecting to hate it. There Will Be Blood was good too, but not as good as it was hyped up to be.

Blake: Yeah, Wedding Crashers is just about as funny as it gets. I haven’t seen Atonement, but I liked No Country for Old Men up until the end. I hated There Will Be Blood though.
