There is No Rivalry!

When the NBA playoffs started, commentators made much ado about nothing, concerning the possibility of a Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers finals match-up.  They talked about the rivalry and the longstanding history between these two teams, but, there is no rivalry!  There hasn’t been one for a very long time!  The days of Magic and Bird are far behind us.  Those guys were rivals (and they had been since their college days).  Those guys warred with each other in the post-season.  These new guys are not those old guys, and there is no rivalry!  There hasn’t been for 20 years!

I don’t think you need the same players for there to be a rivalry. The fans don’t forget. Sure the rivalries might not be as heated but the memories are still there and people still get more excited about those games and take them more personal.

Bryan

We already know your opinion in wordpress vs blogspot. How about a real topic:

Less filling vs tastes great
Coke zero vs Coke
Hatfields vs McCoys
James White vs Everybody Else

Chuck: In my drinking days it was Corona or Hennesy, so I stayed out of that debate. I’d probably guess “less filling” because light beers never tasted great, if memory serves.

Pepsi

The Montagues

Everybody else (as long as they’re not Mormon, JW, Pro-Gay, Muslim, or Roman Catholic — ok, so just the Arminians) ;)
