Season Premieres

Television is finally getting back to normal.  Top Chef returned to TV for a fourth season three weeks ago, The Riches was back for its sophomore season two weeks ago, and last week I saw the return of CSI: Miami after an extended hiatus, with a new episode last night, and another new episode this evening.  Likewise, CSI and CSI: New York are returning  Wednesday and Thursday nights respectively, with all new episodes.

But I’m really excited about the season premieres that this week brings.  Tonight, the fourth season of Hell’s Kitchen is premiering on Fox (9 PM).  Gordan Ramsey is a genuine pleasure to watch.  The way that he screams at people is entertaining to say the least, and who doesn’t love a good cooking competition?

I’m also excited about the three-hour UFC Fight Night Live that’s going to be on Spike TV tomorrow night (7 PM), and the new season of The Ultimate Fighter that is premiering afterwards.  This season the contestants have to fight to get onto the show.  This is UFC president, Dana White’s way of weeding out the fighters who aren’t really committed to the sport.  Nearly every previous season has seen some kind of quitter, and Lord knows we don’t need more of that.

It should be a good week for TV.  My Tivo will be busy.

I’m about to start Season 6 of 24 on DVD. After that I’m giving up TV completely except to watch the occasional DVD with my family. So there.

In other news, I spend waaaay too much time on the internet staring at a different type of screen.

Nathan: I shall pray that you see the light and return to your TV watching ways. ;)
