The internet monk Michael Spencer has posted 10 reasons why he doesn’t read peoples’ blogs. Honestly, this is the first time I’ve read his blog but since Bryan L. and David Ker both linked to the post I thought I’d read it. His list was kind of funny I guess, or serious, or something. I haven’t put my finger on it just yet. So here’s my list of reasons I don’t read your blog:
-
Your posts are too long. If I want to read a book then I’ll contact a publisher and ask for a review copy. :)
-
I just don’t like you. I think that’s self-explanatory.
-
I’ve never heard of you. Don’t take offense, but there’s a lot of people blogging, most of whom I’ve never heard of. The theo/biblio-blogging community as far as I can tell is a pretty tight-knit bunch.
-
You don’t post about things that I find interesting. I generally prefer Biblical studies and Theology stuff, so if you write about Nascar or poetry then it’s not for me.
-
I just can’t understand what you’re saying. This pertains mostly to theologians and philosophers. I’m working with a G.E.D. so that should explain it all. ;)
That’s about it. I’m sure I could think of other reasons but why bother? If I don’t read you, chances are you don’t read me and won’t see this post anyway.
B”H

If somebody wrote some I would be willing to read some Nascar poetry.

So… are you saying that you don’t actually read my blog?

David: Not I! :-o
Esteban: Well, generally your posts are not too long, I actually do like you (although I don’t know why), I have heard of you since the good Dr. West brought us together at the request of the honorable brother minister Dr. Lingamish, your posts are on things that I find interesting, and I can almost understand what you are saying. Having said all that, yes, I am saying that I don’t actually read your blog.

Gasp! I knew it! ;-)
(By the way, that laughing smiley is one of the most disturbing I have ever seen. Note how it is its upper lip that moves.)
