Jim West has posted something of a farewell address on biblioblogs.com and has asked Chris Tilling to reproduce the post on his blog as well.  I was deeply saddened to hear of the reprehensible act that some coward committed in deleting Jim’s blog and this news has saddened me even more.  Jim has stated that for the time being he has no plans to resume a personal blog and will post from time to time on biblioblogs.com and moderatebaptists.blogspot.com.  It’s better than nothing but it isn’t the same. 

In my opinion Jim represent(-s)(-ed) the best of blogging with his up-to-date news coverage of biblical studies related issues, his ability to spark a bit of controversy by challenging the status quo, his finger pointing at those who defile the ministry, and a whole host of other things that I’m just not up to mentioning.  His wit and scathing sarcasm will be sorely missed.  I only pray that he stays as active in commenting as he was before this incident.
