Disappointing News

Fans of the super-action/drama Heroes such as myself were let down when the Writer’s Guild of America went on strike and the second season was cut literally in half.  Now comes more disappointment as according to this article:

The fate of “Heroes” is certain: no more supernatural drama until fall. NBC announced that because of the show’s high level of production, they won’t roll out new episodes until September. “It’s a high concept show that usually needs a bigger number of episodes to develop a storyline and it’s also a very event-driven show,” Szalai said. But the show, which attracted an average of 14.3 million viewers in its first season and dipped in popularity in its second, could suffer from the lag time. “It’s a shame, Bianculli said, “because you have to worry about the momentum on that show.”

So it wasn’t bad enough that we were left with half-a-season, now we have to wait another 7 months before picking up where we left off.  :(

Filthy greed.

Filthy indeed.

And you will notice that we rhymed there. Perhaps we should form a biblio-blogging rap duo. Think about it. :-P

Ha! I would looove to see that Nick. It would be like the Grammys last night…

To the post topic. That blows. Maybe I’ll read more though which is a good thing…

That’s not likely,
I can’t write spritely;
And that vile crap
that you call rap
makes me cringe.
In fact, I’d rather go on a binge.

Jim, don’t quit your day job. :)

Yeah, what Ryan said! :-P

I tried to warn ya! But would ya listen? Nooooo…..

It’s probably good that they’re putting it on hold to make it better. The second season was crap. Not just shortened, but bonafide crap, compared to the first season (which was awesome).

Clarification: I know they’re not putting it on hold for the purpose of making it better… but I think it will help.

I liked the second season, although admittedly not nearly as much as the first. But perhaps if it had time to develop it would have come close.

Okay, maybe I’m being too harsh. But the first season had a beautiful movement towards a highly anticipated climax. The second season was entertaining, but was not was well orchestrated and in the end, I was kind of like, “eh… no big deal.”

I agree. But we have to remember that the end was only the 11th episode of the season. There was supposed to be another 11 or 13 episodes. It wasn’t meant to be the season finale.
