7 Little Known Things About Myself

Bryan L. the 6 foot half breed kinda/sorta (?) tagged me with a 7 little known things about myself meme.  I’ve already done a couple of little known facts lists in the past (one here & another here) but I’ve always planned to do some more.  So without further ado here goes:

  1. Following Bryan… I’m half Puerto Rican and half Italian, but unlike Bryan I know enough Spanish to get me through some very superficial conversations with the most vapid of people.  It’s all about a fake smile and a good ’sí, sí.’

  2. I think I was a sociopath before my conversion to Christ (but I don’t really care to elaborate on that — get it?  I don’t ‘care’ to elaborate — like I have no emoti… ahh, forget it!)

  3. Sometimes I fear that if I ever have another kid I won’t love them as much as the one I got now.

  4. I spend 2-3 days agonizing over which books to buy from Amazon only to end up buying something I wasn’t even thinking about on a whim.

  5. I thought the Godfather Trilogy as a whole SUCKED!  Yeah, I said it (!) — take that Ben Myers :-P (But if they had cut it off after the first one then I would have liked it much better.

  6. Other than when I’m showering, I keep socks on at all times.  Feet are the handywork of Satan!  And if not then Marcion was right and Yahweh was an evil demiurge!  (Just kidding God, you know I got mad love for you Dog.)

  7. I’m extremely intelligent.  I know that’s a little known fact since you’d never be able to tell from the posts I write ;)

Now I tag Lingamish (as if he even reads my blog), Chris Tilling (who never perpetuates the meme thing — it’s not a chain letter Chris, God won’t punish you for keeping it going), Jim West (who absolutely hates memes!), and John Hobbins (who probably also doesn’t read my blog but I’m crazy enough to tag him anyway).

Oh, man. This has reminded me that I owe you two memes. I gotta get crackin’!

I used to wear socks all the time after the manner you describe–so much so that my hair line stops where the socks would start. But then last year I got leather sandals with a closed tip for home wear, and this made it unbearably hot to wear socks all the time, so I quit. I need new sandals, though, and now I know to get open-tip ones, so that I can duly return to sock wearing!

As for you comments on The Godfather, well, just know that there is a Judgment Day a-comin’, and that you will be held accountable for every such idle and blasphemous word.

You were first up to get tagged for this one but I know how busy you are so I spared you. And c’mon man, nobody can say that they liked the Godfather III and keep a straight face ;)

I almost tagged people like Ben Witherington and Scot McKnight because I wondered if anyone ever tags them.

1.) I take that back. I know the curse words in Spanish.

3.) I know what you mean!

4.) I obsess over buying books only to feel nothing for them once I get them. It’s the equivalent of womanizing but with books.

5.) I love part one of the Godfather! Brilliant. And when you look at the overarching theme of the 3 it was genius!

7.) Where did you learn to write? For someone who didn’t go to college I’m actually often really impressed with your writing and especially your book reviews. Were you originally a nerd that went bad in your teenage years??

Blessings,
Bryan L

I learned to write in public school… You should reconsider it for your kids ;)

And thanks! I’m impressed with yours as well!

No! I was always cool… 8) But yeah, I took a turn for the worst in 8th grade (13 yrs. old). The focus was on girls, cigarettes, liquor, girls, and girls. When high school hit I had better things to do and just didn’t go to class. Such is life… :-|

Got your tag. But memes are the devils work (Dawkins).

Maybe I’ll give this one a try, though.

And you are right. Godfather is TOTAL crap.

Girls, cigarettes and liquor? How’s that a turn for the worst?!

LOL :-D

God help you!

Seven?!? But you know everything about me. Except for the fact that I’m busier than that lounge-about Esteban!

So now just give us 6 more and tag a few folks yourself…
